Born Again

“How can a man be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be born!”

John 3:4 (NIV)

Nicodemus, a teacher of Israel, asked the night's most honest question: how can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter his mother's womb a second time? His logic was flawless and his conclusion impossible. Human reason measures miracle by biology and declares it unfeasible. All obedience begins where logic ends its road.

Jesus never debated anatomy; He announced necessity: you must be born again, of water and the Spirit. The old is not reformed, it is replaced. Religion tries improving the old man; God births a new one. Obeying here means consenting to restart from zero in Another's hands. A professor's humility becoming heaven's pupil.

The wind blows wherever it pleases, Jesus explained. Spiritual birth is received, never controlled. Discreet signs, evident effects: moving leaves betray invisible wind. Transformed lives betray an operating Spirit. Whoever is born again carries fresh breeze in ancient, everyday gestures.

Today, drop Nicodemus's question and receive Jesus's answer. Stop trying to reenter the womb of the past to fix what only heaven can birth. Surrender the old age of habits and ask for the Spirit's delivery. Being born again is today, not after your funeral service.

And consent to birth: surrendered old men gain fresh starts.
