Two or Three Gathered
For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.
Matthew 18:20 (NIV)
Jesus guarantees presence where two or three gather in His name. Fellowship's purpose revealed: guaranteed presence. Small gatherings carry the great Presence. Heaven never measures meetings by attendance but by invocation. Two with Jesus outweigh crowds without Him every time.
It is not number that attracts, it is the Name. Gathering in My name means center, submission, and invocation: Christ in the middle, never in the audience. He promises to stay, not merely to visit. Continuous presence, not occasional appearance. Where the Name is honored, its Owner attends faithfully.
The context shows the practical purpose: restoring brothers, agreeing in prayer, deciding with authority. Presence that binds and looses, confirms and sustains. Meetings in His name produce heaven's decisions applied on earth. Fellowship is no social program; it is a court of grace in session.
Today, truly gather. Never despise the small group, the prayer pair, the coffee with a brother. Set the meeting, open the Word, invoke the Name. The promise covers exactly those simple gatherings that hurry overlooks. Small invitations carry eternal weight.
And gather close: small presences with Jesus decide great things. Gather close today. Small meetings decide eternities.
