We Are Yours, O David
We are yours, O David! We are with you, O son of Jesse!
1 Chronicles 12:18 (NIV)
Cornered between Saul and the Philistines, David receives unlikely reinforcement: the Spirit came upon Amasai, chief of the Thirty, declaring — we are yours, O David! We are with you, O son of Jesse! Success to you and your allies, for your God will help you. Armed men from nowhere pledge total loyalty to the fugitive. David received them and made them commanders. God sends allies when the scenery says “quit.”
Hope attracts companions. Amasai joined no crowned king but a hunted man — discerning God in the cause, not a throne in the scene. Your faithfulness in hard times is the broadcast recruiting help: people gather around whoever remains, heaven moves for whoever trusts. Nobody enlists in defeated armies unless sensing the invisible General marching along.
Declare your loyalty today: “I am yours, O Jesus” — in meetings, families, hard calls. And receive the Amasais God sends: accept help, honor allies, share command. We are yours: two words that become an army when the Spirit anoints them. Loyalty declared boldly recruits heaven's backing. Say it aloud today — “I am yours, Jesus” — and watch allies gather. God funds faithfulness with reinforcements.
