The Sword of His Mouth
The rest of them were killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the horse.
Revelation 19:21 (NIV)
Revelation describes the rebel armies' end with solemn imagery: the rest were killed with the sword coming from the mouth of the rider on the horse. Notice the weapon — no spear, tank, or bomb: the word leaving the King's mouth. Christ conquers by speaking. The same mouth that said “let there be light” will say “it is finished” over all rebellion. The creating Word is the judging Word.
Faith rests in that sword. We need not defeat evil by muscle — we must stand on the right mouth's side. While the world stockpiles weapons, the church stockpiles promises; while empires gnash teeth, the Rider advances serene. The final judgment will be no balanced battle but a declaration: one word, and done. Whoever fears that sword today should fear standing against it, not under it.
Enlist in the right army today: submit your cause to the King, guard your mouth from grumbling, wield the Word instead of revenge. His mouth's sword defends whoever trusts him and judges whoever rejects him. Choose the mouth's side — and rest on the white horse. One word from the King ends every war. Stand under his sword, never against it.
