Bigger Barns

· Topic: memory

Then he said, This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.

Luke 12:18 (NIV)

The rich fool planned expansion: tearing down barns and building bigger ones to store crops and goods. Memory of folly told by Jesus. The man talked alone, planned alone, and would die alone that very night. Wealth without God is a monologue ending in eternal silence.

This is what I'll do: the fool's certainty. No consultation with heaven, no thought for the soul, no room for neighbors. Bigger barns for a smaller heart. Jesus calls whoever stores for self yet is not rich toward God a fool. Barn size never measures life size.

God held another plan for that night: demanding his soul. Memory adjusting priorities: life does not consist in abundance of possessions. Full barns buy not one extra hour. The rich man gathered for many years and lost eternity. Heaven's accounting uses another currency and calendar.

Today, review your barns: toward whom are you rich? Tear down selfish plans and build greater generosity. Store less, share more, trust always. The only expanded warehouse that counts is heaven's treasure, where no thief steals and no moth corrodes.

And plan with God: barns consulted in heaven never turn folly. Plan today.
