Do Not Hand Me Over

· Topic: gratitude

Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes, for false witnesses rise up against me, breathing out violence.

Psalms 27:12 (NIV)

David prays what every persecuted heart feels: do not turn me over to the desire of my foes. Enemies with desire are judges without law. False witnesses rise, breathing violence in every word. Slander is attempted murder with the mouth. Whoever was ever accused unjustly knows this surrender's bitter taste.

Gratitude here is preventive and trusting: David asks before thanking afterward. Faith praying deliverance already rehearses praise. Asking protection with anticipated gratitude moves heaven faster. God loves answering prayers that already carry thanks in their pocket. Advanced gratitude is faith with a receipt.

False witnesses breathe out violence: lies need continuous breath to survive. Truth breathes alone. Slanderers tire; the guarded slandered rest. Time, truth's ally, unmasks hired mouths. David outlived Saul, Absalom, and Shimei by one recipe: surrender to God, never to men.

Today, hand your adversaries to the right court. Stop answering every lie and start thanking for every deliverance. God will never hand you to their desire; He will hand them to oblivion. Your part is praying and thanking; His is guarding and justifying.

And pray gratefully: handed to God, never to desire. Pray gratefully today. God guards the slandered.
