While the Temple Stands

· Topic: gratitude

And though this temple is now so imposing, all who pass by will be appalled and say, Why has the Lord done such a thing to this land and to this temple?

2 Chronicles 7:21 (NIV)

God shows Solomon the dark future: the imposing temple would become astonishment, and passersby would ask why the Lord treated the land this way. Glory turns to questions when covenant breaks. Consecrated stones hold no abandoned presence. Temples without obedience become museums of judgment and warning.

True gratitude learns from fallen temples: give thanks while the temple stands. Israel wept its glory after losing it; the wise celebrate presence before watching it leave. Every service is a standing temple; every heard prayer is present glory. Gratitude postpones ruins and prolongs divine visits among us.

The passersby's astonishment teaches: nobody questions ruins without history. The temple's fall would preach for centuries. Our falls preach to passersby too. What story will your ruins tell? Better: which gratitude will prevent your ruins? Grateful hearts sustain spiritual roofs through every storm.

Today, enter the temple grateful like one who knows the price of absence. Thank Him for worship, Word, brothers, presence. Never wait for astonishment to value grace. The temple stands today: celebrate, serve, remain, and give thanks aloud.

And give thanks standing: celebrated temples remain, forgotten ones fall. Give thanks standing today. Gratitude sustains temples.
