An Appointed Harvest

· Topic: service

Also for you, Judah, a harvest is appointed.

Hosea 6:11 (NIV)

Hosea announces double-edged: also for you, Judah, a harvest is appointed — whenever I restore my people's fortunes. Harvest here tastes like judgment: Judah sowed wind, reaping whirlwind. Yet sentences end in restoration: whenever I bring back. God appoints harvests both ways — sin's and grace's. Plantings define harvests; repentance redefines futures.

Serving with harvests in view sustains service. Sowers tire eyeing soil alone; reviving eyeing barns. Paul commands unwearied good-doing, for due seasons reap. Appointed harvests mean heaven-marked dates: never late nor early. Servants believing harvests water even droughts, knowing — rains come.

Sow toward your harvest today: praying for children, serving churches, forgiving debtors. An appointed harvest: God already marked your reaping date.

Faithful sowers never retire hoes. Working today, reaping tomorrow. Heavenly barns fill faithful hands on earth. Sow today looking forward, never backward. God dates harvests men cannot postpone. Work and wait joyfully always. Waiting wearies flesh but strengthens faith steadily. Rest in appointed dates confidently. Rains come on schedule divine. Sow in drought, reap in joy eternally. Trust dates heaven set unchangeably. Sow on, harvest is near.

And when waiting wearies, remember: heaven's barns never stand empty.
