A Slave for Love
Then he will be his servant for life.
Exodus 21:6 (NIV)
Hebrew law freed slaves after six years — with one touching exception: if the slave said “I love my master; I will not go out free,” the master took him to the door, pierced his ear, and he served for life. Ear marked, never forehead: sign of one who heard and chose staying. Slavery by love, never debt — gratitude's bond, never chain.
Servant leaders bear that mark. Moses, David, Paul — all called “servants of the Lord,” by devotion, never duty. Kingdom leadership pierces ears at doors: hearing God, choosing to stay, serving from love when freedom beckons. Office-led leaders bill; love-led leaders remain. Crises reveal the gap: hirelings flee, love-slaves stay.
Examine your ear today: serving for love or paycheck, applause, fear? Renew vows before God — “I love my Lord; I will not go free.” Pierce ears at secret doors, returning joyful. A slave for love: the highest title leaders can carry.
Love-marks never hide. Show yours today serving with smiles. Marked ears hear heaven clearly forever. Renew your vows today and serve rejoicing daily. Love-slaves always outlast hirelings.
And remember: the Lord piercing ears also washes feet. Follow Him.
