What God Requires

· Topic: service

To walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart.

Deuteronomy 10:12 (NIV)

Moses condenses entire religion into one question: and now, O Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear, walk, love, and serve — with all your heart and soul? Fearing, walking, loving, serving: four verbs, zero rituals named. God first asks not offerings, temples, or feasts but whole hearts in four directions. Simplicity dismantling complicated religiosities.

Serving closes the list — never accidentally. Fear without service turns fright; walking without service turns strolling; loving without service turns sentiment. Service proves the other three: fearers obey serving, walkers serve along ways, lovers serve beloveds. God audits the first three through the fourth. Serving is spirituality's audit.

Answer with schedules today: where do you fear, walk, love, and serve wholeheartedly? Choosing one wholehearted service act — whole, never leftover — executing it. What God requires fits ordinary days lived wholly.

Divided hearts serve halfway. Deliver the whole today, receiving the Whole.

And tomorrow, repeat: fearing, walking, loving, serving. Shortest, fullest liturgy. Whole hearts receive whole blessings abundantly. Deliver everything today: fears, walks, loves, labors. Divided service limps; whole service flies. Give all today and gain All forever.
