Secrets for Those Who Fear Him
The Lord confides in those who fear him.
Psalms 25:14 (NIV)
David reveals an almost unbelievable privilege: the Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them. God keeps secrets — purposes, paths, decisions — sharing them. Not with the curious, scholarly, or prominent, but with God-fearers. Fear here is no fright but reverent obedience: whoever takes God seriously receives heaven's confidences. Intimacy with God has a criterion, and the criterion is fear.
Gratitude blooms in such confidence. Knowing the universe's Sovereign whispers plans in your ear should bow us in daily praise: he tells me secrets! The known covenant — promises, direction, correction — arrives as gift, never wages. Receivers of secrets answer with kept secrets: obeying what they heard, never exposing the sacred, living worthy of trust. Intimacy breeds responsibility.
Draw near to listen today: fear the Lord in small choices, noticing secrets in details — opening doors, holy nudges, leaping verses. Thank him for every confidence, obeying every whisper. Secrets for those who fear him: heaven speaks softly with whoever walks near. Heaven confides in reverent hearts daily. Draw near, listen closely, obey promptly.
And keep what you hear: divine secrets are lived before they are told.
