He who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.

1 John 3:7 (NIV)

John writes tenderly yet firmly: dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray — he who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. Deceivers claimed faith and life ran separate: believing one way, living another. The apostle dismantles the fraud simply: trees are known by fruit, the righteous by righteousness. Practice reveals parentage — God's or the devil's.

Faith without practice is label without content. Attending, agreeing, feeling moved is not enough: practice is required — truly forgiving, truly giving, truly obeying. John speaks not of stumble-free perfection but of undisguised direction: the righteous may fall yet rise walking toward righteousness; the deceived fall and call falling freedom. The test is simple and daily: did this week's life resemble my Father?

Practice one concrete righteousness today: return wrong change, keep the forgotten promise, treat kindly whoever cannot repay. Small righteousnesses build great resemblance. Whoever practices righteousness not only looks righteous — is righteous, as he is righteous. Labels never impress heaven; fruit does. This week, let one concrete act prove your parentage: repay kindness, keep promises, defend the weak. Small righteous deeds compound into unmistakable resemblance. Practice daily and the mirror will show your Father.
