The Holy Seed

· Topic: hope

Until the Lord has sent everyone far away and the land is utterly forsaken.

Isaiah 6:12 (NIV)

Isaiah's vision ends in total desolation: abandoned cities, empty fields, land surrendered to void — until the Lord has sent everyone far away and the land is utterly forsaken. Complete judgment, no exceptions. Yet whoever reads the next verse finds the hidden miracle: a tenth will remain, a stump, a holy seed. God judges the whole tree and preserves the seed. Judgment never gets the last word where holy seed remains.

Christian hope lives in that stump. Nations fall, projects collapse, families split — and amid rubble God keeps one seed: a praying grandchild, a faithful friend, a verse that will not let go. The holy seed looks tiny beside the lost forest, yet carries the entire future. Empires count armies; God counts seeds. And one seed kept by him outweighs whole forests without him.

Find your holy seed today: what good remains amid loss? Water it — pray for the grandchild, tend the friendship, repeat the verse. Mourn not only the forest; plant the seed. Until desolation passes — and it passes — the holy seed sustains hope. Stumps outlive forests when God guards them. Guard your remnant and await spring.
