The Mystery Now Revealed
To make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, kept hidden in God.
Ephesians 3:9 (NIV)
Paul introduces himself as less than the least of all the saints — yet to him God entrusts one of the greatest revelations: to make plain to everyone the administration of the mystery kept hidden in God for ages past. God's love was never an improvised backup plan after everything went wrong; it was a treasure kept from eternity, now revealed in Christ.
That changes everything about how you see yourself: before you existed, you were already loved in the heart of God. The Gospel does not say “God loved you once you improved”; it says the unsearchable riches of Christ were announced even to the Gentiles — once excluded, now included. Revealed love plays no favorites: it widens the table and draws near whoever was far away.
So the revealed mystery calls for a practical response: love like someone who was included, by including. Whoever understands they entered by grace stops guarding the door and starts holding the door for others. Ask yourself today: is there anyone I consider too far gone for God's love? The mystery has already been revealed — and it fits inside one welcoming gesture of yours.
