Abimelech's Dream
But God came to Abimelech in a dream one night and said to him, You are as good as dead because of the woman you have taken; she is a married woman.
Genesis 20:3 (NIV)
God came to Abimelech at night, in dreams: you are as good as dead! The woman you took is married. Faith God defends even in others' dreams. Abraham lied fearfully; God shielded Sarah faithfully. Patriarchs' errors never cancel promises. God guards covenants despite allies. Dreams become courts when truth sleeps.
You are as good as dead!: sentences with built-in mercy. Warnings before blows. God threatens sparing: Abimelech could still return her. Faith recognizes warnings as grace. Disturbing dreams may be disguised deliverances. God shouts nightly saving daily. Whoever hears dreams escapes graves.
The woman you took is married: God defends marriages even pagans'. Abimelech acted with ignorant integrity, and God acknowledged it. Faith learns: God sees hearts beyond errors. Immediate restitution saved kings. Return what is not yours before heaven charges. Integrity informs restoring quickly.
Today, hear your dreams: which warnings has God given? Return others' Sarahs — credits, praises, positions. Upright faith restores unnegotiating. And trust His guard over your house: Sarah was shielded despite Abraham. God watches His own even when we fail.
And hear nightly: heard dreams prevent graves. Hear nightly today. Heard dreams prevent. Obey quickly.
