At Midnight

· Topic: peace

At midnight the Lord struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne, to the firstborn of the prisoner, who was in the dungeon, and the firstborn of all the livestock as well.

Exodus 12:29 (NIV)

At midnight the Lord struck Egypt's firstborn, from thrones to dungeons, and livestock's firstlings. Peace born on judgment nights. Egyptian midnight became Hebrew dawn. God acts while men sleep. Punctual judgments free peoples punctually. Heaven's clocks never delay scheduled liberties.

From Pharaoh's son to prisoners' sons: judgment without privileges. Thrones and dungeons wept equally. Just peace chooses no addresses. Hierarchical Egypt discovered equality in mourning. God levels above and below judging. Nobody stands too high escaping nor too low unnoticed.

But Israel suppered lambs under blood-marked lintels. Peace shielded by marks. Destroying midnight passed over signed doors. Blood speaks louder than decrees. Marked houses slept peacefully while palaces watched weeping. Protection is no luck but applied covenant with hyssop.

Today, mark your lintels: apply blood by faith over homes, children, plans. Sleep peacefully on others' judgment nights. Midnights reach everyone; marks distinguish some. Today's signed doors cross nights singing. Blood peace surpasses darkness panic.

And mark doors: signed lintels sleep in peace. Mark doors today. Signed lintels sleep. Apply blood. Trust cover. Rest safe. Rest safe and sleep sound. Fear no midnight. Dwell secure. Abide hidden. Stay marked. Plead blood. Sing nights.
