Asa's Covenant

· Topic: peace

All who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, were to be put to death, whether small or great, man or woman.

2 Chronicles 15:13 (NIV)

Asa and the people covenanted radically: all not seeking the Lord, Israel's God, must die, small or great, man or woman. Peace through total decision. Reform without halves. Judah tired of lukewarm syncretism; covenant demanded all. True peace is born from whole consecration, never partial deals.

All who would not seek: seeking as life-or-death criterion. Asa understood idolatry kills nations. National peace demanded national purity. Tolerating idols is slow collective suicide. Generations bargaining with evil pay with futures. Radical decisions breed lasting peaces.

Small or great: covenant without privileges. Small and great, men and women, all under one pact. Just peace spares no elites. God measures kings and servants by the same seeking. Palace idolatry falls with street idolatry. Nobody is too great seeking nor too small covenanting.

Today, renew your covenant: seek the Lord wholeheartedly or admit lukewarmness. No halves, no pet idols. Kill what kills you: cut, burn, bury. Asa's peace awaits the decided. Today's total covenant guarantees tomorrow's rest.

And covenant wholly: total covenants breed total peace. Covenant wholly today. Total covenants breed peace. Seek God fully. Burn idols. Cut ties. Cut ties with darkness. Bury past. Walk pure.
