Feasting Without God
They have no regard for the deeds of the Lord.
Isaiah 5:12 (NIV)
Isaiah photographs alienated elites: harps, lyres, tambourines, flutes, wine at their feasts — disregarding the Lord's acts. Full bands, absent God: feasts sans Host. Entertainment sans contemplation numbs discernment: ears full of music, empty of Scripture.
Obedience sanctifies feasts. Celebrating is no sin — God ordained feasts; celebrating sans God is. Obedient feasts include Hosts: gratitude before toasts, remembrance amid music. Harps with God turn worship; sans Him, anesthesia. Examined playlists reveal priorities: celebrated things denounce worshiped ones.
Inviting God to your feasts today: thanking at tables, praying in joys, remembering in music. Feasting without God: never again — with Him, always.
Divine Hosts turn feasts into services. Inviting the Principal today. Sincere invitations bring Real Presences always. Open doors joyfully today. Feasts with God become eternal memorials. Celebrate with Him and for Him. Holy joys infect guests. Feast holily, evangelizing while feasting. And moderating excesses: holy feasts keep hours for ending, times for praying. Feast moderately today. Holy joy needs boundaries. Celebrate sanely always. Laugh purely often and loudly. Rejoice temperately. Moderation adorns saints beautifully. Practice balance daily. Feast thankfully, fast willingly. Honor God always. Amen. Amen and amen.
