Wood That Never Answers

They consult a wooden idol.

Hosea 4:12 (NIV)

Hosea denounces idolatry with holy irony: they consult wooden idols, answered by sticks of wood. People consulting planks, expecting wisdom from lumber. Prostituting spirits lead them astray — trading living God for dead objects, calling it spirituality. Idols always answer whatever we wish hearing: nothing, with echo.

Courage consults the truly answering. Wood never speaks, sees, or saves — still charging apostasy's price: unfaithfulness. How many “woods” do we consult today — horoscopes, hunches, crowds, algorithms — while living Words wait open? Spiritual courage swaps sticks for living God, even when He answers unwelcome truths. True answers outweigh comfortable echoes.

Smash your wood today: abandoning false sources, opening Bibles, praying truly. Wood that never answers: trading it for the answering God — obeying.

Holy inquiries yield straight paths. Asking the Living today, never lumber. Silent logs teach seeking living voices. Trade echoes today for living Words. Consult the Truly Answering instead of comforting wood. Obey answers even unwelcome. Ask the Living daily, never lumber. Hear fully and obey promptly. Dare hearing all the way through. Courage listens completely. Ask the Living first.

And when He answers, dare hearing all the way through.
