One Spirit With Him
He who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit.
1 Corinthians 6:17 (NIV)
Paul declares the closest possible union: he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit. No visits, no occasional contact — union, one spirit. Spiritual marriage: two natures bound, one direction, one life. Whoever joins the Lord thinks, feels, decides with Him. Service springing from union carries divine DNA.
Serving united changes service quality. Slaves perform tasks; united ones overflow life. Anxious Martha served; united Mary chose better — Jesus praised the united. Activism sans union burns servants; union sans activism fruits works. God's order stands clear: first “with Him,” then “for Him.” Union breeds anointing; anointing breeds abiding service.
Unite before executing today: praying before acting, abiding before producing, listening before speaking. One spirit with Him: united servants carry presence, never mere competence.
Competence impresses men; union impresses heaven. Seeking the latter today. Daily union yields lasting anointing surely. Abide today in true vines and bear fruit. Connected branches receive sap unasked; detached ones wither asking. Choose fruitful union deliberately and serve powerfully. Carry presence everywhere you serve today. Abide daily, bear fruit richly.
And nightly, assess: serving with Him or merely for Him? Adjusting tomorrow.
