John opens his Gospel before Genesis: he was with God in the beginning. Before Bethlehem, before Eden, before “let there be light,” Christ already was, already dwelt, already related. Past eternity, perfect communion, shared glory. Human leaderships start with births and résumés; his starts before time. Eternal foundations uphold temporal works.

Leaders rooted in eternity lead differently in time. Eternity-drinkers never despair at urgencies: deadlines tighten, crises shout, people press — and rooted ones answer from secret places. Jesus slept through storms, silenced before Pilate, forgave from crosses: reactions from before beginnings. Hasty leadership is born fearing ends; serene leadership is born certain of the Eternal.
