John's baptism — was it from heaven, or from men?

Mark 11:30 (NIV)

Pressed by leaders about his authority, Jesus answers with a question: John's baptism — was it from heaven, or from men? Tell me! The interrogators froze — answering “from heaven” would convict their unbelief; answering “from men” would enrage the crowd. They calculated, whispered, and fled: “we don't know.” The simple question exposed divided hearts: they sought no truth, only advantage. Whoever calculates too much never answers honestly.

Forgiveness demands answering that question first — where does my hurt come from, heaven or men? Many offenses we carry were born of human expectations, not divine commands: we wanted applause and got silence, demanded perfection and found humanity. When the source is human, forgiveness flows easier — we forgive in men what we would never dare question in God.

Examine your hurts today with Jesus' question: did this come from heaven or from men? What came from men, forgive and release; what touches heaven, carry to God in prayer. Hearts answering honestly gain authority to forgive — and to live light. Calculated hearts stay heavy while honest hearts walk free. Answer his question truthfully today and watch hidden chains fall. Lightness always follows honesty.
