Chosen by the Churches

· Topic: gratitude

What is more, he was chosen by the churches to accompany us as we carry the offering, which we administer in order to honor the Lord himself and to show our eagerness to help.

2 Corinthians 8:19 (NIV)

Paul notes the brother sent with Titus was chosen not by him but by the churches to accompany the offering's ministry. Gratitude for approved company. God confirms messengers by people's vote, not only apostolic letter. Accountability begins in choosing carriers. Transparency elects witnesses before counting coins.

The company's purpose is double: honoring the Lord Himself and showing eagerness. Offerings administered with witnesses honor God and silence suspicion. Gratitude managing well protects the Lord's name and donors' hearts. Money in ministry without witnesses becomes rumor; with witnesses, worship. Financial holiness preaches without pulpit.

Showing our eagerness to help: visible generosity inspires generosity. Churches seeing trustworthy brothers carrying the collection would give with greater joy. Gratitude circulates: whoever sees integrity contributes; whoever contributes worships. Giving is liturgy, and liturgy calls for reliable, smiling ministers.

Today, be approved company for someone's offering: integrity, punctuality, discretion. And thank God for brothers carrying baskets without stealing loaves. Your faithfulness with little and others' money qualifies you for much with eternal treasures. God watches cash boxes before trusting crowns.

And accompany with honor: upright company honors the Lord. Accompany honorably today. Integrity honors God. Honor Him.
