Living from the Gospel

· Topic: purpose

In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel.

1 Corinthians 9:14 (NIV)

The Lord ordered: gospel preachers should live from gospels. The order's purpose sustains messengers. Preachers free from second jobs preach full-time. Sustaining churches reap constant teaching. Generosity funds proclamation. Free gospel to hearers, sustained by tithers. Kingdom economy: all give, some live from it.

In the same way: Paul anchors in temples — priests lived from altars. Comparison's purpose legitimizes support. Old and New Covenants agree: workers deserve wages. Denying support to teachers is avarice baptized spirituality. God pays messengers through people's hands. Tithes are heavenly salaries.

Should live from gospels: living, never enriching nor begging. Purpose is dignity, never luxury. Paul sometimes waived rights avoiding offense; rights existed nonetheless. Balance: sustaining unspoiling, receiving undemanding. Content workers preach contentment. Mutual generosity anoints both sides.

Today, sustain feeding you: tithe, give, honor. Your generosity's purpose is continuous preaching. And if workers, receive gratefully living moderately. Generous churches own full pulpits; grateful workers own anointed messages. Give and live, live and give.

And sustain preachers: faithful tithes keep pulpits. Sustain preachers today. Faithful tithes keep. Give generously. Honor pastors. Fund missions. Fund missions and build churches. Sow bountiful. Reap joy. Tithe. Offer. Give. Share.
