1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
1.1 Personal Information You Disclose to Us
In Short: We collect personal information you voluntarily provide when using the App.
We collect the following personal information when you interact with the App:
- Account Information: Your name and email address when you sign up. If you use Sign in with Apple, we may receive a unique identifier instead of your email, depending on your settings.
- Voice Recordings: You may provide voice recordings to generate personalized prayers. These are transcribed using Apple's Speech-to-Text (STT) model and processed ephemerally by Google Gemini. We do not store the recordings, transcriptions, or inputs—only the resulting prayers, Bible verses, timestamps, and prayer identifiers are saved.
- Notification Preferences: If you enable push notifications, we collect your notification schedule to deliver reminders.
All personal information you provide must be true, complete, and accurate. Please notify us of any changes by contacting hello@getdailyfaith.com.
1.2 Information Automatically Collected
In Short: We collect certain technical data automatically when you use the App.
We automatically collect:
- Device Information: IP address, device identifier (e.g., UUID, push token), device type, operating system version, app version, and crash reports.
- Usage Data: Information about your interactions with the App, such as feature usage, session duration, and analytics data (via PostHog).
- Log Data: Diagnostic and performance data, including timestamps and error logs, to maintain App functionality.
This data is collected via Expo, our development platform, and other third-party services listed in Section 4.
1.3 Sensitive Information
We process voice recordings as sensitive data, but only ephemerally to generate prayers. These are not stored by us. Generated prayers and verses are saved but do not qualify as sensitive under most privacy laws.
1.4 Information From Third Parties
We do not receive personal information from third parties, except for unique identifiers provided by Apple via Sign in with Apple.
2. HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We process your information to deliver the App's features, manage subscriptions, and improve our services.
We process your information for:
- Service Delivery: Generating and delivering personalized prayers and Bible verses using your name, email, and voice inputs.
- Subscription Management: Processing your subscription status via Superwall and Apple's in-app purchase system using your UUID.
- Push Notifications: Sending scheduled reminders based on your preferences and push token.
- Analytics and Improvement: Analyzing usage data to enhance App performance and user experience.
- Support and Communication: Responding to inquiries and notifying you of policy updates.
3. WHAT LEGAL BASES DO WE RELY ON TO PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We process your information based on valid legal grounds, such as your consent or our legitimate interests.
If You Are in the EU or UK
Under the GDPR and UK GDPR, we rely on:
- Consent: For processing voice recordings and sending push notifications (you can withdraw consent via device settings or account deletion).
- Contractual Necessity: To provide the App's core features (e.g., generating prayers) and manage subscriptions.
- Legitimate Interests: For analytics and improving the App, provided this does not override your rights.
- Legal Obligations: To comply with applicable laws or respond to legal requests.
If You Are in Canada
We process your data with express consent (e.g., agreeing to this policy) or implied consent (e.g., using the App). You may withdraw consent by deleting your account.

We only process your data when necessary and legally justified, such as to fulfill our obligations to you or protect vital interests (e.g., in emergencies).

6. IS YOUR INFORMATION TRANSFERRED INTERNATIONALLY?
In Short: Yes, your data is processed in the U.S.
Data is stored on Supabase servers in West US (Northern California) and processed by U.S.-based providers. If you're outside the U.S., your data is transferred to the U.S., where privacy laws may differ. We use safeguards like Standard Contractual Clauses for EEA/UK users (available upon request).
7. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We retain data until you delete your account or the App shuts down.
We keep your data indefinitely unless you delete your account via the "Delete Account" button or we discontinue the App. Deleted data is removed promptly from our systems.
8. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?
In Short: We use encryption and third-party security measures.
We employ industry-standard encryption and rely on providers like Supabase and AWS for security. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee protection against all threats. Use the App at your own risk in a secure environment.
Data Breach Response
If a breach occurs, we will investigate and notify affected users/authorities as required by law.
9. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?
In Short: The App is rated 4+ but not targeted at children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we discover such data, we will delete it. Contact us at hello@getdailyfaith.com if you suspect this has occurred.
10. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?
In Short: You have rights to access, correct, or delete your data.
- Access/Edit: Request a copy or changes by emailing hello@getdailyfaith.com.
- Deletion: Use the "Delete Account" button in the App.
- EEA/UK Rights: Under GDPR, you may restrict processing, request portability, or object (contact us to exercise).
- Withdrawal of Consent: Disable notifications or delete your account.
We will respond to requests per applicable laws. EEA/UK users can also complain to their data protection authority.
11. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES
In Short: We don't respond to Do-Not-Track signals.
The App does not currently recognize DNT signals. We'll update this policy if a standard is adopted.
12. DO UNITED STATES RESIDENTS HAVE SPECIFIC PRIVACY RIGHTS?
In Short: Yes, especially in California.
California Residents (CCPA)
- Rights: Request to know, delete, or limit sensitive data use; non-discrimination.
- Categories Collected: Identifiers (name, email, IP), usage data, audio (voice, ephemeral).
- Disclosures: Shared with service providers (Section 4); no sales in the past 12 months.

Other States (e.g., CO, CT, UT, VA)
You may have rights to access, delete, or opt out of targeted ads/profiling (not applicable here). Contact us to exercise.

In Short: Yes, depending on your location.
- Australia/New Zealand: Rights to access/correct data under Privacy Acts. Contact us or complain to the OAIC (Australia) or OPC (NZ).
- South Africa: Access/correct data under POPIA. Complain to the Information Regulator at enquiries@inforegulator.org.za.
